Kim Kardashian has decided to fall in line with the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker and Beyonce by releasing her own perfume. It seems as though this trend is definitely still going strong, though we are reaching the limit on celebrity perfumes.
Perhaps a Kardashian perfume will be the final straw in this trend that seems to have jumped the shark months ago. On the other hand celebrity perfumes are strong sellers so maybe not.

As it turns out the Chanel Perfume ad featuring Nicole Kidman has done more than bring in sales; it has inspired the idea behind the music video for the debut single of this year’s X-Factor winner. If sources are to believed, the X-Factor winner will be treated to a video where they will be required to dance along skyscraper rooftops, just like in the Kidman commercial.
In a bid to curtail the ever increasing market for knockoff fragrances and designer goods the NYPD recently completed a huge crackdown effort that closed the doors on 31 Canal Street knockoff distributors and shops.
This raid has gone above and beyond most other efforts in the fact that not only has the merchandise been confiscated, but the shops will not be allowed to reopen. Hopefully this sends a strong message to counterfeit perfume retailers.

DNA Fragrances has made the bold claim that they are able to create fragrances based on human DNA. While the company has created fragrances based on the DNA of Elvis Presley, Napoleon Bonaparte and Marilyn Monroe their latest creation of Michael Jackson perfume is catching them the most notoriety.
The company is not releasing information about how the scents are created or in what way the unique genetic encoding of DNA is used to inspire them.

Online auction giant E-Bay was recently fined in French courts for failing to comply with an earlier court order to limit the auctions of specific French perfume brands to French customers.
The previous order was put in place to protect the upscale French perfume industry from lowered prices, as well as to curtail the buying and selling of imitation French perfumes. In a country where knockoff designer goods are seen as a threat to the national economy this ruling is not a surprise; however the 2.5 million dollar fine against E-Bay can be seen as little more then a slap on the wrist.

A new micro-blog-style service has been launched by Microsoft in China, which is based on Windows Live Messenger and it actually tends to expand the social-networking functions which are linked to the chat software, in a country where it is considered to be a hit.
